a week agoCame here for lunch on my birthday, it’s my first time here and I was pleasantly surprised. The food came out quickly, tasted great and we even got a recommendation for what to order. We ended up going for the “Kickin’ in Kenya” platter + a side of plantain and yeah… highly recommend. The only change I would make is that the platter should have ones less plate of chips and that be swapped out for plantain. For drinks we had the original and the strawberry mojitos. They were so good, we ordered another round. I’m happy I don’t love nearby or else I’ll be coming back too often, which I think is a great compliment.

2 weeks agoI don't normally write food/restaurant reviews, but today's experience at Afrikana really annoyed me. It was our first time eating here and we were planning to come for some time. I ordered the 'Steak it on me', one of the most expensive items on the menu. When it arrived, I was surprised by the portion. For almost £27, it was a small steak! It was also quite fatty. It was basically a small steak (nicely seasoned to be fair), laid on top of soggy marinated chips, topped with crisps fried onions, probably out of a packet. I don't mind paying £27 for a steak and chips, but the food quality and portion should reflect the price. I don't like being ripped off. I hope the owner of Afrikana reads this review. I know you care about profit and margins, but please don't treat customers like they don't know anything. You have to do better, or customers won't return.
